Would you mind sitting with me in the grass, it’s a bit damp and you bum might get cold and your clothes wet, you might even get dirt on your pants, it’s ok, relax.
I was at the optometrist where I always have interesting conversations as the middle aged children of the boomers help and guide their aging parents in their later years. Rows of lenses all in premade plastic frames line the wall as you enter. There is a conversation I walk in on as I mind a political nuisance with white hair that I think might have been possessed, I’m not joking; I heard a strange utterance under her breath that only the odd ones out can hear. She thought she was loving and saw something in me, she saw a reflection of her self when she looked upon me and assumed she understood me as one of her tribe but deep inside she saw the truth and said as much. Her opinions were all wrong as I had declared at my arrival out loud but I had given none of my own except my sovereignty.
The lenses on the walls looked back at me empty of perspective but to correct the readers vision.
The grass is soft isn’t it? I have to dead head the petunias over there to keep the plant flowering, it’s tedious work but worth the view and it keeps the plant healthy if watered and fed properly.
We went for a walk in the smokies this weekend, a place you might say would be in the middle of no where, with the rushing river and waterfalls as the path slopped up the mountain gradually. A long the path were places of life that will only exist right there, until it’s able to seed or transplant, to continue existence…the birch tree that fell years ago wearing a sweater of moss with tiny delicate flowers next to rock weeping with joy at the butterflies and bees puddling. Small ecosystems I could step upon if I so desired. They know we exist just as we know they exist.
Watch the ant and it looks like it has no idea where it’s going but in the ants reality it’s following a path set with messages here and there. You assume they are unaware of you and I might ask why?
Lay down on the grass and look into the softened blue sky and watch the hatch that’s flying around above you…aware vs nature.
What else can you see as the sun shines down upon you enlightening Terra for you? All the planets and the stars still look upon you even though the sun hides your vision of the darkened sky.
